About Erik Norton
Erik has lived in the Columbia area since 1991 when he came to USC. From 1997-2002, he taught English and coached three sports at Dreher High School. After returning to law school from 2002 – 2005, Erik worked at an Am Law 100 law firm in Columbia from 2005 until 2020, where he was a partner and chaired the firm’s pro bono committee for four years. Erik’s experience allows him to meet the legal needs of schools, school districts, individuals, partnerships and private companies, for-profit or non-profit, large or small. His practice focuses primarily on clients in the education, construction and commercial real estate industries, whether helping negotiate contracts, address licensure and code compliance requirements for development projects, assist with corporate governance, navigate difficult employee disputes, or represent the client in litigation or arbitration.
